Tattershall gave us an interesting and informative illustrated presentation on
the organs of Mexico at Brookside Christian Reformed Church. |

| October 8, 1999 Gordon Stewart, organist of
the Huddersfield Town Hall in Huddersfield, England spoke to us about the organ scene in
his native country at the close of the millennium. Mr. Stewart, who had played a recital
at Park Congregational Church the previous evening, also treated us again this evening to
several selections. |

| November 15,
1999 Dr.
Pamela Ruiter-Feenstra of Ann Arbor, lead us in a workshop in beginning
improvisation. In this session at Immanuel Lutheran Church, she coached us through a
number of techniques we could use to create our own hymn introductions, free
accompaniments or other service music |

| January 17, 2000 St. Mark's Episcopal Church was the setting
for an Anthem Reading Session. Dr. Peter Hopkins and the Grand Rapids
Choir of Men and Boys presented works familiar and unfamiliar, with a special emphasis on
compositions written by Grand Rapids composers. Helpful points regarding diction, vocal
placement, conducting, etc., were also offered. |

2000 Dr. David
Craighead of the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, talks with assembled
guests after conducting a Master Class. The new Reuter organ at Second
Congregational United Church of Christ was used as the teaching tool for this session.
Playing for the class were Janna Bos from Calvin College, and Cornerstone University
students Heike Burghart and Elizabeth Lanning. |

| March 20, 2000 A Memorial Service in honor
of recently deceased chapter members Sylvia Ten Broek, Dirk Bakhuyzen and Dr. David Vander
Vliet, was held at the LaGrave Avenue Christian Reformed Church. Playing at the service
was Dr. Charles Strikwerda, Esther Korzilius, Verlyn Schultz, Steve Girod and Dr. Larry
Visser. |

| April 10, 2000 Bethlehem Lutheran Church was the place for an
Orff Instrument Workshop. Dr. Janet Hill gave us a delightful time with
these unique instruments, showing us how they may be used to improve musician ship in
groups of varying age levels, and for the enhancement of worship. |

| May 15, 2000 After a pleasant ride on a chartered luxury
bus, we arrived at the Opera House in Grand Ledge. This historic old building is now a
banquet hall and the home of a 1928 Barton Theatre Organ lovingly
restored by Scott Smith, a member of the Lansing, MI, AGO chapter. After a delicious
dinner we were treated to a thorough and entertaining demonstration by Scott and Joel
Gary, a member of our own chapter. |
