| While the music for tonight's service is drawn from several Christian traditions, the order and texts for tonight's service reflect a Reformed-Presbyterian adaptation of the liturgy for evening prayer. The structure of the service focuses particular attention on praying the Biblical Psalms, meditating on extended scriptural readings, and prayers and gifts for the needs of the world. Texts are drawn from the Book of Common Worship (Westminster John Knox Press, 1993) and The Worship Sourcebook (Faith Alive/Baker Books/Calvin Institute of Christian Worship, 2004) |
