| The organ of Central Reformed
Church was built by the Schantz Organ Company of Orrville, Ohio in 1957 concurrent with
the completion of the present building. At that time it consisted of 41 ranks of pipes
playable from a four manual console. In 1982 three of those ranks were discarded and an additional 40 ranks were added by Robert G. Dial of Springfield, Illinois. The tonal finishing and regulation was completed by Leslie Peart, Director of Music for Central Refomed Church. In 1990 two additional ranks were added. In 1991 a new five
manual console in the style of E. M. Skinner was built by Organ Supply Industries of Erie,
Pennsylvania and installed by Robert Dial. This new console contains preparations for an
additional three ranks. The organ is now multiplexed and has it own recording system for
playback of the instrument. In December of 2004 a new Tuba by Reuter was added to the
choir. |
